Little Dragon

If you have yet to discover Little Dragon, then today is your lucky day. From Sweden, they released their first EP back in Two-thousand-double-aught-six. They've been cranking out consistent goodness ever since. LD takes the synth-pop genre to a deeper level with well crafted lyrics added sensible melodies, these guys are well versed in their craft and it shows! Its a rare occasion a band can pick up on the more concious music afficionados while getting the soroity sisters to bob their heads as well. These guys do it and in full force. Purchase their stellar work and check out their website (so so well done)!!
Sample Runabout from Machine Dreams, and then the ever delicious remix by the legendary CRAZE (just go ahead and get everything he's ever done).

RUSS CHIMES-Expressway Mix Pt. 1

Why haven't I seen this yet?? Discovered this amazing set by one of my favorite producer, remixer, dancefloor filler: Russ Chimes. Solid tracks, big, choruses, massive beats, gorgeous melodies; he's kinda one of those guys I aim for when it comes to developing my personal sound.  Sounds like this are definitive of a beckoning summer, increased temperatures and folks rediscovering the outdoors. This one will have you dancing wildly around your house, when no one's home.  Please download and turn it up!!!!

Yong Ho Ji's rubber scrap menagerie

Art by Yong Ho Ji, a Korean artist who uses old recycled tire scraps to create her amazing menagerie.  Being on a ferocious beast kick in my own art, I'm obviously intrigued and fascinated by her work. "He uses rubber tires as his medium because he thinks of the material as a mutation, something that comes from nature but ends up looking entirely different from it’s original form. He also likes the material because it’s malleable and a close approximation to skin and muscles." Here's more images and a few interviews with the artist.

Video explains the world's most important 6-sec drum loop

A bit monotone narration, but if you can endure, is chocked full of phenomenal information. The market for sampling has reached insane proportions giving the artist little to no room for expression, unless the gots serious dough.

Fred Falke vs. Grizzly Bear

Take a super-indie juggernaut like Grizzly Bear and add the saturated synth glory of a producer like Fred Falke and you got an all-smiles bright lights dancer. Fred Falke, an in-demand remixer in his own right, has produced remixes for a number of mainstream rock and electronic artists. Falke has reworked songs from artists as diverse as Little Boots, Gossip, U2, AnnieLadyhawke, Lykke Li, La Roux among many others. Love this one.

xxxchange does it up right

This is what remixing is all about. Spank Rock member, sought-after producer and one of Brooklyn's finest, XXXChange takes on Charlotte Gainsbourg's looming track "time of the assassins." Not redefining the track, but moreso highlighting the already wonderful parts of this slow weaving mystery. Great work. Also, his most excellent remix of Thom Yorke's "The Eraser." Enjoy.

Rusko's New Album OUT NOW!!!

I'm always leery about full length electronic albums. Its a daunting feat to produce a full length album that doesn't either become excessively repetitive or their one or two cool ideas become over exploited as they're stretched across 10-12 tracks.  Rusko beats the odds!  This album, OMG! out on Mad Decent, is hot from beginning to end.  He pushes the ideas of dubstep/wobble and takes the genres out into the badlands of redefinition without compromising the original constructs of the music styles. I would highly suggest this one!! Go listen to it in its full length glory HERE!! While you're at it, get this Sub Focus remix of one of the Hold On.  The original's, as the remix, vocals are performed by Dirty Projector's lead Amber Coffman. She is becoming one of my favorite vocalists as of late.

Also, for all of you lazier cats who've just caught up with BWillackers recently and have yet to dive into archives, here's all the Rusko we've posted thus so far.
