Muppet Star Wars Figures - Why wasn't I notified!?!?!

The Corporate Giant of all things imagination, mice and wishing on stars has taken it upon themselves to produce, market and sell Muppet based Star Wars action figures. As far as I am aware, I am still without any of these in my possession, and the press release was from November. I remember that episode way back in 1980, and reruns of the same - the Muppets accompanied by much of the cast from Star Wars. I can't tell you how many times I watched that episode. I miss that show and most the movies (at least the one's in which Jim Henson was still involved). So much of my imagination was molded by the Muppets and Star Wars. Unfortunately, the figures can only be purchased at any Disney Themepark; but not if Ebay has anything to say about it!   Here's some fun facts correlating Star Wars with the Muppets.

Star Wars Uncut. Redone by the web community. super sweet.

I learned recently that Tuesday was Star Wars Day??? After doing a bit of research (a quick stroll over to Wookiepedia) I find this detail pertainig to May 4th:

May 4 is often known as "StarWars Day". It is jokingly said: "May the 4th be with you", in reference to the popular phrase in Star Wars: "May the Force be with you."The phrase dates back to at least 1979, on the day Margaret Thatcher was elected Britain's first woman prime minster. Her party took out a newspaper ad in the London Evening News that said "May the Fourth be with you, Maggie. Congratulations."

So in commemoration of this festive of weeks, I present you with the ultimate Site Saturday yet (for me, at least): STAR WARS UNCUT.  If you havent heard the buzz on this project, lemme educate you quickly.  A few brainiacs cut up the original Star Wars 'New Hop' into 15second bits. Then allowed the web community to grab them up and redo them however they wanted. They can tell you better (from the STAR WARS UNCUT website):

Star Wars Uncut is the brainchild of Casey Pugh, a developer dedicated to creating new and fun experiences on the web. Working as a developer at Vimeo, Casey became interested in using the internet as a tool for crowdsourcing user content. Star Wars was a natural choice to explore the dynamics of community creation on the web - the response from fans has been overwhelming worldwide and the resulting movie is incredibly fun to watch. Star Wars Uncut has been featured in documentaries, news features and conferences around the world for its unique appeal - we thank everyone for making it such a special project. StarWarsUncut.com won a 2010 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media - Fiction.

Here's a sweet sample

New Star Wars book out this month.

Vanity Fair has a small article on the ultra-awesome new coffee table book The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back released this month.  Packed to the hilt with behind the scenes photographs and stories from the set. Understand, the book strictly gravitates around the initial three movies, New Hope to Return.  We don't speak of the other three movies. We merely keep them locked in the basement, periodically feeding them bread and valium only when Jar Jar starts crying. baby.

simply stunning
